How to care for your skin in Spring

4 Tips for Spring Skin Care

I was doing some light pruning in the garden, and the warmth of the sun caught me by surprise. The intensity of the heat on my back reminded me just how hot the sun can be. After a cold winter, the warmth of Spring is finally here!

It is important to adjust our skincare habits to the changing seasons. Now that Spring is here, let's talk about how to care for your skin as the weather gets warmer.

Eat Healthy and Hydrate

The best advice I can give when it comes to maintaining a healthy complexion, is to drink plenty of water and eat nourishing food. Fresh vegetables and fruits grown locally and in season are going to be best for healthier skin.

Work up a Sweat and Cleanse Your Skin

Getting out and about is easier as the weather gets warmer. Brisk walking, running or riding helps your body eliminate toxins and it improves circulation – giving your skin a Spring glow. As soon as you're done exercising, make sure to wash off the sweat.

Apply a cleanser to clean your skin and pores. Use a cleanser balm that will provide gentle exfoliation, such as Fresk Cleanser Balm. It is going to open up your pores, let you skin breathe and help your skincare products penetrate deeper into the skin.

Be Sun Aware

Protect your skin and be more aware of the stronger instensity of the sun. Use sunscreen, and limit exposure to the sun when it is at it's most intense, in the middle of the day.

Check for Dryness

Run your fingernail across your skin. Does it leave a white mark? This means your skin could be dry and in need of moisture. Nourish your skin with a quality moisturiser that's got fresh, quality ingredients. A good starting point is Fresk Australian Native Moisturiser as ingredients are top quality and it is made fresh for you when you order.

Wishing you healthy nourished skin this Spring.
