The recent bush fires in Australia affected many families. It disrupted routines and left many feeling demotivated.

What are some of the ways we can get our motivation back?

1. Find What Delights You

Search within yourself and reconnect with what delights you. What brings you joy and makes you feel alive and excited? A short holiday? Spending time in nature or catching up with a friend? Visualise it. Once you've figured this out then do more of those things that delight you.

"After the fires, I was feeling unmotivated and uninspired. I remembered that art uplifts me and inspires creativity in me."
"I joined an art workshop, taught by accomplished artist, Nicholas Wilton. The workshop lifted my spirit and helped re-energised me."

2. Get Active

Exercise helps with our blood flow and release endorphins. These happy hormones have a positive effect on our mood when we're feeling sluggish. Take a brisk walk around your street. Stretch in your living room. Get moving! It will lift your mental state.

3. Show You Care

Shift the focus from yourself to other people. We sometimes feel like isolating ourselves during difficulties – and that is fine. But then reach out and connect with others. We are social beings. When we reach out and show we care then we often feel good about it and this will lift our mood.

There a reason why it is better to give than receive. Send an encouraging message or offer to help someone that is going through a hard time. Give attention to show that you care. You'll nurture the relationship and feel good in the process .

4. Drink Water

Water is not only refreshing physically, but helps our mind feel sharp. If you find it hard to focus then grab yourself a glass of water. It can be the thing that helps you reset yourself. Dehydration can make you feel tired or foggy, so it's important to keep yourself hydrated by drinking water.

5. Listen to Favourite Songs

Music can make you feel alive and motivated. Music has the ability to tap into our emotions. Try listening to your favorite songs to lift your spirit.

6. Be Kind to Yourself

When you're feeling stuck or uninspired, feelings of guilt can arise. It's ok to feel stuck sometimes. It can be part of the process of creativity. Out of that can come some wonderful ideas and direction! So go easy on yourself. Treat yourself kindly.
